Advent of europeans to india is a part of modern India in which we study Europeans in India specially Portuguese in India, Dutch in India, French in India, English or British in India and begining of East India Company.

Portuguese in India
Europe usually trade with Arab countries but Arabians didn't reveal that from where they get all these trading spices. European understood that Arabian hideing something so some sailors were searching of that Nation in which one of them was christopher Columbus who want to explore India but due to lost in Atlantic sea, he reached America. After the Columbus journey Portuguese sailor Vasco Da Gama wanted to explore India first of all He visited South Africa where he saw some indians then he stay at mozambik after that He reached at calicut in May 17, 1498 along with Indian trader from mozambik, finally he became first to discover India and straight path from Europe to India known as Cape Route. At that time Calicut was ruled by a king zamorin. He was received by Zamorin this lead to the establishment of trading station at Calicut, Cochin and Cannanore. Cochin (1502) was the early capital of the Portuguese in India. The first Governor of Portuguese in India was Francisco Almeida (1505-09). He introduced policy of Blue Water. Alfonso d' Albuquerque became governor of Portuguese in India  in 1509. He captured Goa from the ruler of Bijapur in 1510 and introduced the policy of Imperialism. Nino -da-Cunha transferred capital from Cochin to Goa in 1530. In 1661 Portuguese king gave Bombay to Charles II of England as dowry, for marrying his sister.

Dutch in India | Duch East India Company
First Dutch person who came to India was Cornelia de Houtman in 1596. Dutch struggled with Portuguese in early days but slowly they capture whole spice region. The foundation of Dutch East India company was Laid in 1602. In 1759 Dutch lose the battle of Bedara against English this leads to downfall of Dutch in India.

English in India | English East India Company
The English East India Company was established in 1600. An imperial carman allowed the company to set up a permanent factory at Surat. In 1611, the company built its first factory in the south in Masulipatnam.

French in India | French East India Company
The French East India Company was formed in 1664 by Colbert under the king Louis XIV. The first factory was established at Surat by Franco Caron in 1668 and 2nd at Masulipatnam in 1669. They occupied Mage, Yanan, Karaikal. The foundation of Pondicherry was laid in 1673 which afterwards, became its capital. They also developed a factory at Chandernagar.

British in India | British East India Company
In 1687 Job Charnoak laid the foundation of Culcutta at Sutanati village in Bengal. In 1698 formation of "The English Company Trading to The East Indies" troubled London Company. In 1709 both company Allies and founded "The United East India Company of Merchant of England Trading to the East Indies" which  popularly known as East India Company. Due to weakening of Mugal Empire whole country divided into many Hindu and Muslim states, this helped East India Company to made Strong base in India. Defeat of Siraj-ud-daulah in the battle of Plassey in 1757. In this battle major part of Nawab's Army led by Mir Jafar and Rai Durlabh didn't take part. The Nawab was defeated and killed. East India Company got control over best three seaports in India Bombay, Madras and Culcutta. These three Seaports have fort and known as Presidency which was in control of Governer who was appointed by Court of Proprietor of East India Company.
