According to Manusmriti
Kshatriya means Veer Rajput is the pillar of Sanatan Varna system which was born from the arms of Lord and after Brahmin, it was said to be the second organ of human society.
Suryavansh and Chandravanshi are the basic sources of Kshatriya. The Puranas indicate that the foundation of the Suryavansh was found only by the sons of Manu and the husband of Manu's daughter who was the son of Lord Chandra, was the founder of Chandravansh.
The Gita said that
शौर्य तेजोधृति र्दाक्ष्यं युद्धे चाप्यपलायनमं।
दानमीश्वर भावश्च क्षत्रं कर्म स्वभावजम॥
That means,
Bravery, fast, patience, cleverness in war, not fleeing from war, donation, service, rule of law, worship of god like son - all these are said to be the natural duty of Kshatriya.
Rajput means "Son of King" From 600 AD to 1200 AD the period has been called Rajput period. They are courageous, brave, patriotic, truthful, fair-minded and always ready to protect their Motherland.
Rajput women were trained for war and didn't hesitate to fight for her Motherland.
