1857 ki kranti which is also known as The Revolt of 1857 comes under History of Modern India.

Spark of The Revolt of 1857
Lord Canning who became Governor General of India in 1856 introduced Enfield Rifle in which cartridges opened by pulling with tooth which is made with the fats of Cow and Pig which hurt religious belief of Hindu and Muslim.  On March 29, 1857, a soldier named Mangal Pandey attacked and fired at his senior officer Lieutenant Baugh at Barrackpur in Bengal which is the main cause behind The Revolt of 1857.
Mangal Pandey hanged on 8 April 1857.
On 10 May 1857 Revolt begin with mutiny of sepoys at Meerut but it changed into Indian first war of Independence against British Rule.

1 Subsidiary Alliance
Subsidiary Alliance of Lord Wellesley in which Indian Ruler have to keep East India Company soldiers in their states and this leads to end of independency of Indian Ruler

2 Doctrine of Lapse
Doctrine of Lapse implemented by Lord Dulhousie in which siege of Right to adoption of child by king and in case of not having successor, that state siege by East India Company.

3 Hurt Indian Religious Belief
In The name of correction of religion They were expending The Christianity in India and Converting Hindu and Muslim by giving some preference which hurt the religious emotion of Indian People.

4 Farmers and Agricultural Factor
In Agriculture field there were scarcities of facilities and day after day cultivation of crops get worst but still they were collecting revenue.

Whole India Involvement
These reason accelerate the revolt of 1857.
On 10 May 1857 mutiny sepoys of Meerut refused to use greased cartridge and on 11 May They marched  towards Delhi and merged with rebellator.
On 12 May 1857 rebellator capectured Delhi and announced mugal emperor Bahadur Shah II as their Emperor whose army was in control of Bakat khan.
On 4th June 1857 at lucknow in Awadh under the leadership of Begum Hazrat Mahal rebellation begin in which Henary Montgomery Lawrence was killed and announced Birgis Qadr who was the son of Hazrat Mahal as Nawb .
Colin Campbell was suppressing revolt of 1857 in Awadh and Kanpur.
Some Historian believed that Nana Saheb II and Azimullah were planning the revolt of 1857 from London and decided at Bithoor 31 May 1857 as the date of begining of Revolt of 1857 in India but due to greased cartridge incident revolt start before planned time.
On 5 June 1857 under the leadership of Nana saheb II rebellator captured Kanpure and announced Nana Saheb II as Peshwa. Rani Lakshmi Bai leading the Revolt of 1857 at Jhansi. After the downfall of jhansi rani Lakshmi bai supported the revolt of 1857 at Gwalior with Tantya Tope at last rani Lakshmi bai died during fight against English General Hugh Rose.
Kunwar singh was leading the revolt of 1857 at Jagdispur Bihar where as Willam Taylor was suppressing the revolt.
Maulvi Ahmadullah was leading the revolt of 1857 at Fizabad and Maniram Dutta at Assam.
Surendra Sai was leading the revolt of 1857 at sambalpur in Orissa.

End of The Revolt of 1857
After a long period of suppression of revolt on 21 September 1857 English again capture Delhi.
The Revolt of 1857 suppressed up to November 1858 and regained British Empire in India but This Revolt
put great impact on British Rule.

Impact of The Revolt of 1857
After this Revolt on 1858 British Parliament siege The East India Company Rule and charge of Rule on India vested to British Crown and Governor General was replaced by Viceroy.
Lord Canning became the Last Governer General of India and first Viceroy of India.

Reason of Failure of 1857 Revolt
This Revolt of 1857 was arose suddenly in aggression without proper planning and Organisation in diffrent places and different time so The Revolt was easily suppressed by English.
